Last week, one of our owners, Kimberly Ward, made her TV Debut with HGTV's Design Wars.
As soon as the show was over, I begged Kimberly to allow me to "guest blog" a post about it.
I was intrigued and bewildered all at the same time. Kimberly and the homeowner seemed to have a ton in common. They both went to HBCU's, both have baby girl toddlers, and in my opinion, look like they could be sisters. So, this is why, when the homeowner chose this room as her selection for the winner, I was a little confused. Now don't get me wrong, the room looked good. The black and white contrast with the turquoise walls and accents really popped on the screen,
but there is where it stopped for me.
I first started to think about safety. Then, I started to think about all of it in a way that only a mother could. From the standpoint of functionality, comfort, and how it would either hinder or help my baby girl toddler as she goes about her exploration of her new room and lives in it for the next few years.
